I am running Windows 8 Pro x64, and RD Tabs 2.1.25 64 bit. Whenever I click on Tools -> Remote Computer Information, I immediately get a popup saying RD Tabs has stopped working. Any suggestions?

Not off the top of my head. That's an interesting error though. Can you run the remote computer information EXE directly? That's RDRCI.exe in the RD Tabs folder.

When I try that, I get the following error:
Unable to launch Remote Computer Information with the arguments specified.
Maybe I'll try a clean install when I get back to work.

I can't imagine why it would do that. It must be crashing outside the normal RD Tabs exception handler, which means it might be crashing before the application even initializes. Can you screenshot for me? Do the other RD Tabs apps run? rdprofclean.exe (profile cleaner) and sleep.exe (simple sleep app for scripting)?

I was able to run the other executables without issue. Only the RDRCI.exe presented a problem. I tried reinstalling, and the issue persisted. So I tried the 32 bit version instead, and it functions correctly.
When I go to the Remote computer information dialog, it does say RD Tabs has detected that you are running Windows Vista with UAC enabled and you are currently running as a normal user. If you wish to list or manage remote desktop sessions on a server, you must elevate to an administrator account. It provides a checkbox to do this and functions correctly.
Maybe this has to do with the UAC detection in Windows 8 x64? I do have the UAC slider all the way to the bottom, but I know in Win8 it's impossible to fully turn off without a registry hack which then breaks all the "Modern" apps.
I tried reinstalling the 64 bit version, and ran both RD tabs and RDRCI.exe as administrator, and they both still crashed. So I'll run with the 32 bit version for now.
Below are screenshots of the crashes:

I'll have to test this more fully on my end, but I haven't seen any Windows 8 incompatibilities as long as you have the 3.5 framework installed. RDTabs.exe will crash without the 3.5 framework, so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue for you.
You might be onto something with UAC. It's calling an unmanaged library, so maybe something changed there.
If you are feeling adventurous, you could just take the 32-bit RDRCI.exe and put it into the 64-bit installation. That won't cause any issues.

Ok, now this really doesn't make sense. I tried what you suggested. Installed the 32 bit version. Copied the RDRCI.exe file to the desktop. Ran it from there no problem. Then I uninstalled the 32 bit version, installed the 64 bit version. That RDRCI.exe crashed. I tested the one on my desktop, and it worked. So I copied it to the 64 bit's program files folder, overwriting the existing one. It now continues to crash, but the one on the desktop still works. So I tried copying it out of the program files folder again, and that copy still crashes. So it seems like the moment it gets put into the c:\program files\Avian Waves\RD Tabs 64 folder, it becomes corrupted or something, which as I said, doesn't make any sense.

I just remembered that EXE actually depends on the DLLs which will also have to match 32-bit/64-bit, so maybe that's part of the problem. I don't understand why you are having issues in that folder, though. Maybeb rename each dll, one at a time, until you find out which one is causing the app to crash?

Has there been any more details found about this issue. I'm experiencing the same exact issue. Windows 8 pro. Rdtabs 2.1.25 x64. INFO button on the login screen brings up windows app crash dialog.

Yea, I did find a bug in rdrci.exe with interop on Windows 8/8.1. It will be fixed in the next major release, when I get time to work on it again.
