It would be nice to have a 'save to favorites' checkbox on the first tab of the new connection dialog box to send the new connection to the favorites when you hit the connect button..

Once connected, you can click on the icon in the top right in the status bar that is a Green + in front of a star. You can then select the folder and click ok. Is this not good enough?

Not good enough? 🙂 The product is great! We're just asking for easier processes.
I would agree with the original poster, C0ut. The icon on the top right is an excellent feature, but sometimes I forget to to click on it, and then I need to reproduce the new connection information.

heheh .. i did realize the green + after I posted the suggestion.. however I'd still agree with whammi adding the feature would make it more intuitive.

I have to admit that I am guilty of this myself. But it just seems that the one tick box will cause more overhead than is necessary. What I mean is that other things need to be considered before implementing what looks to be a simple feature. For example

- Would the Save to Favourites tickbox have to be checked on demand or be globally set for all new connections?
- Will it have to check if the favourite already exists or just pop up the favourites manager?

Actually thinking about it, maybe just adding the same button that is on the status bar to the Connection Properties form, and allowing adding of favourites while disconnected might actually work. Or a "connect & add to favourites" button that will simulate clicking the "add to favourites button" once the connection is established.

I must say I am liking the idea now. Gets my vote 🙂 Though to be honest, I'd prefer the global favourites feature first.

There are some good ideas in this thread. I need to think about how to implement it. Since it needs to know where to store the favorite, there will always be a dialog asking where to put it, so it might end up being an intrusive feature, but i need to think if there is a cleaner way to implement it.
