Possible I'm just missing something - but I'm trying to get my default view on startup to hidethe Menu Bar and go Full Screen. Things have been saved so as to go full screen but I haven't found a way to hide the menu bar at startup... Obviously I can just click it and press F12 once it's up, but figured I'd ask if I was missing a setting somewhere or just the way things are :)
Thanks a bunch!

That should work. I use it that way all the time! Just go full screen, click to hide menu bar, then exit RD Tabs. That will save that mode at next restart. Or at least it should! What OS?

Win7 Pro - SP1
This has been a little thing for a year or so, but the other day I wound up opening the app like 8 times in a day so finally pushed me to ask :)
Any way to reset the saved prefs or something?

Yes, just rename this folder: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Avian_Waves\RDTabs.exe_<someGUID>
It's important that you rename/remove the whole folder and not the specific version because RD Tabs will attempt to upgrade old settings if you only remove the current one.

Ok - took me a few tries as I have a C and a D drive and a few users - but renamed the entire avian_waves folder and started up RTTabs. Launched with defaults which was great step in right direction (splashscreen, etc)...
Changed it to full screen and hide menu bar and thats only 2 changes I made. Hit Alt-F4 to close out, then re-opened. Full screen preference stayed in place - Hide Menu did not.
Am sure it's something local - but is making no sense - especially because if I hit hide menu manually, it works great each time 🙂

Now that I know where to look, manually edited the latest version / user.config from false to True for the "FullScreenHideMenuBar" setting - and it opens in full screen and with menu bar hidden...
Not sure why the config file wasn't getting updated - but was able to get to where it works properly :)
Thanks as always for the help!

That is really, really strange. Do you have any third party window management utilities? You know things that add widgets to windows for various things, like window roll-up and stuff. Or maybe something like AutoHotKey scripts? Because that value you changed is updated whenever the window state changes, so I'm wondering if when RD Tabs is closing, something is intercepting the call and making some changes and then RD Tabs saves that. I've never seen the behavior before...
On the bright side, a lot of that code was rewritten out of necessity when I was refactoring other things for RD Tabs 3.0 (which will come out eventually) so when that is released, it may magically fix itself. lol.

No bloatware if I can at all help it 🙂 Too much of a geek to do that if I can at all avoid it.... :)
There's no window management software or widgets/gadgets running on my desktop... There's a few baseline applications that run at startup - but nothing that should interact with RDTabs...
Very cool about the rewrite - but I won't ask the when or hwat question 🙂 I will say that this is probably my #3 most important application on my desktop and although I've tried a variety of alternatives because I know you do this part time - I always keep coming back because it simply works, is fast and unobtrusive... All of the things I am looking for! :)
Thanks for getting a great product out there and being available to help support it! One way or another - this was resolved hehe 🙂

thanks for the compliments! it may not seem like it at times, but i'm really anxious to get the new version out. it's not like a monumental transformation (like windows 7 to windows 😎, but it will have some exciting new features and faster...
