A bug was confirmed this AM  where you couldn't import RDP files (after clicking "OK" nothing would happen). I have no idea how long this has been in the code! Anyway, it was so easy to fix, I quickly whipped up a stable and alpha bug fix release. RD Tabs Update will update both the alpha and stable, or you can download from the URLs below.

Additionally, in order to get the 64-bit platform onto regular updates, a 64-bit version of 2.1.1 was compiled and has a fully functional RD Tabs Update (both automatic and manual).

URLs...

Hi Tim

Just to let you know that the x64 version updater downloaded the x86 version, not x64. Also the installer would not update or de-install (on Vista x64) - so had to resort to zapping the MSI manually.......

Sorry cant offer any more info than that.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Going forward (ie, 2.1.1 and beyond) the x64 version will know to look for the x64 version. The updater in the previous x64 betas (2.0.x) will NOT know enough to download the x64 version. 😞 Sorry about that! That was my bad for being confusing.

Keep me updated on any other MSI issues. I'm relying on the built-in MSI stuff in Visual Studio, so I'm hoping this was a fluke ... for now. It's possible the 2.0.x x64 versions installed wouldn't take the new x64 installer cramping its style. 🙂

I just downloaded version RDP Tabs version 2.1.18. I've tried several other RDP connection managers, and this is by far the best. Thanks for writing such a great tool!

I did find one problem. Importing RDP files doesn't work for me. I see the same behavior as described below. I'm wondering if the "RDP Import Bug" creeped back in on the latest release.

Thanks.

Hmmm... I tried importing some RDPs and got errors. At least it wasn't silent, like before. I'm looking into it.

There were numerous bugs. I take it that not many people use this feature since these bugs linger around so long.

Anyway, below is the list I found. Please report any others you run into. However, keep in mind that not all parameters of RDP files can be parsed by RD Tabs at this time.

From the RD Tabs 2.1.19 changelog (will be released soon)...
- Fixed a bug where RDP file import would throw a non-descript error if drive redirection was disabled in RDP files generated by RDC 6.0 and newer.
- Fixed a bug where RDP file import would ignore half of the settings saved in the RDP file.
- Fixed a bug where RDP file import would not overwrite display name under some conditions.
- Added new parsable RDP file parameters: screen mode id (full screen = fit to app window, custom = custom), compression, desktopwidth, and desktopheight.
