I used to be able to send CTRL+ALT+DEL key commands and others to the remote server/pc when I used to use VNC years ago. This would be a nice feature to have for RD tabs. If its already there or if somebody has already requested it forgive me as I have not seen it.

It is -- sort of.
CTRL+ALT+DEL is a protected sequence that is not able to be overridden by any application. This is by design as it allows you to know that you are entering the TRUE security menu and not a virus trapping the key sequence and hoping to listen to your password's keystrokes (for example).
To work around this in remote desktops, you press CTRL+ALT+END which will bring up the remote security menu, instead of the local one. This works in RD Tabs as well as the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client.
Other trapped keystrokes, such as Windows-Key combinations (Tapping the Windows Logo key for the start menu or pressing Win+E for Explorer, for example) can be configured to respond on the remote desktop instead of the local desktop by doing the following...
Before connecting, go to the "Resources" tab in the Remote Desktop Connection Properties. Underneath the section titled "Windows key combinations" select "send to remote computer." This will send ALL protected keystrokes except CTRL+ALT+DEL which cannot be overriden on NT-based systems (2000, 2003, XP, and Vista).
Note that if you have System Key Shortcuts enabled in RD Tabs, that will always take precedence over the "Windows key combinations" setting.
