I use the "Always open in new tab" feature. It would be nice not to have to always close a tab when open as it has that "blank default" tab open. I'd recommend a "Don't open default tab" option
We can batch edit favorites so this isn't as big of a deal. It would be nice to have a "Group Password" that can be set and the associate the connection with a group password. That way if a password changes you don't have to remember which connection uses it. You just set the Group Password and forget it.

Lastly is the availability of more command options. I know it's on the road map, however having the ability to set the "Connection Name" would save me a lot of headaches. If that can be pushed up it would be greatly appreciated.

Great software!

1. A tab is required to exist in a tab pane, or else the tab pane will close. That's pretty deeply hard coded into RD Tabs. I'll try to think of a work-around for you, though. Perhaps some sort of option that will automatically close the default blank tab if a favorite is opened before anything else happens (such as opening a new tab and so on).

2. Multiple connection profiles should solve the password problem, as it will allow you to associate a connection profile with a favorite (and so forth) so that when you make changes to the profile, they will take in all connections associated with the connection profile. In the interim, you can sort your favorites into favorite folders and use the batch favorites editing feature to change the password in multiple favorites at a time.

3. I'll get the command line options up as quick as I can! Promise! 😃

I've started using 2.1.5 and am very pleased to see it has a resolution for #1 on my list. It works beautifully. The only suggestion I have is maybe a tertiary box "do not reuse previously connected" as a subset of that.

I have had disconnected windows reused that I was saving.

Thanks for all of your hard work!

That's a REALLY good idea. I think i will change the checkboxes to radio buttons...

- Always open favorite in a new tab
- Always open favorite in the current active tab
- Open favorite in a new tab only if the active tab is already connected
- Open favorite in a new tab unless the active tab has never connected

Thoughts?

Sounds like we're on the right path! I say let's give it a whirl! By my estimations I'd be selecting #4 radiobox 🙂

Check out 2.1.6 Beta. Just released ten minutes ago. #4 is my default option now too. 🙂 Great idea you had.
